フォニックス1、2、3の宿題、バッジブックレットを有効に活用していただくため、カミール先生から今月より６回に渡り、ニュースレターをお届けします。今月はその第一弾として、English-Please Builders website.の「ボキャブラリーチェック」のパートのやり方について。宿題のやり方に変更点が一つありますので、最後までご確認ください。
＊「ボキャブラリーチェック」は、バッジブックレット（表紙が動物の写真）の毎回のレッスンの初めの、単語チェックのページのことです。
今までは、授業の復習にのみ宿題のバッジブックレット（表紙が動物の写真）を使用していました。
今後、「ボキャブラリーチェック」のパートは2週に分けてそれぞれ別のアプローチで行っていただきます。①ブックレットに記入するライティングのアクティビティ（予習）と、②English-Please Builders website.でオンラインで行うQuizletのアクティビティ（復習）です。
「ボキャブラリーチェック」を使って単語の予習をしっかり行う方が、翌週に、お子さんは新しい単語を知っている状態で授業に臨めるため、他の理解度が上がり、パフォーマンスが向上するということに気がつきました。今後は、以下の要領で、宿題を行ってください。

10月開始のセメスター2より、Phonicsブックレットの宿題（表紙が水色）にBadgesブックレット（表紙が動物の写真）の１ページ目、「ボキャブラリーチェック」の単語のライティングを追加します。
例：
Lesson 18の受講後 ：今までは、Lesson 18のPhonicsの宿題（表紙が青っぽいブックレット）だけ
Lesson 19の受講後 ：今までは、Lesson 19のBadgesの宿題（動物の写真のブックレット）だけ

Lesson 18の受講後 ：Lesson 18のPhonicsの宿題＋Lesson 19の宿題ブックレットの初めのボキャブラリーチェックの1ページ/単語のライティングをする
Lesson 19の受講後 ：Lesson 19の宿題だけ（必ずオンラインでクイズレット/単語の復習をしてください）
こうすることで、単語を効率的に予習復習でき、授業では先生が教えてくれる文法の練習に集中できます。楽しく視覚的に学んでいただきたくて、写真とジェスチャーを加えたQuizletをEnglish-Please Builders website.に作りました。バッジテストの授業の前にはできれば複数回、何日かごとにQuizletsを行うことをお勧めします。Quizletsの学習モードは、単純なフラッシュカードからマッチ、学習とテストのような楽しいゲームに変更することができます。より効果的で楽しい学習をするために、さまざまなモードを試してみてください！
より効果的に使うためには、以下の様な方法もおすすめ！
*Badgesのブックレット（表紙が写真）の「ボキャブラリーチェック」のパートを準備します。
*単語ひとつひとつを指差しながら、
お子さん: How do you say ‘ゾウ’ in English?
保護者様: Elephant.
お子さん: How do you spell elephant?
保護者様: Let’s look it up! (ブックレットの次のページでスペルを確認してみてください。)
上記の方法の他にも、スマートフォンやタブレット、スマートスピーカーなどのAI対応デバイスを使って、「Siri/Google/Alexa ゾウは英語で何？」 と聞いたり、また、インターネットで単語の正しいスペルを調べたり、面白い雑学を調べたり、お子さんがより興味を持って、覚えやすく工夫していただくことで相乗効果を得ることになるはずです。
このようにして、生徒さんは英語だけでなく、科学や歴史などのトピックについて、より多くのことを学ぶことができます！

We will be starting a 5 part newsletter series where we will give advice on how to get the most out of doing the new Badges Homework Booklets for Phonics 1, 2 and 3. This month will be the first part of the series, and we’re going to talk about how to do the Vocabulary Check activity on the English-Please Builders website.
First of all, we only use the Badges Homework Booklet to review the new Badge Pack they learned for that week and to prepare for the Badge Tests, which happens the next week. For semester 1, we do the Badges Homework Booklet after odd number lessons (1, 3, 5, 7, etc.). For semester 2, we do the Badges Homework Booklet after even number lessons (22, 24, 26, 28, etc.).
Vocabulary Check has 1 reading and writing activity in the Booklet and 2 Quizlets on the English-Please Builders website. For the Vocabulary Check activity in the booklet, we recommend researching the correct spelling of vocabulary words online and also looking for some interesting trivia to help make it more interesting and easier to remember for the students. This way, students can learn about more things about the topic like science or history, not just English!
Once the Vocabulary Check page has been filled up with the correct spelling of the vocabulary words, it’s time to head on to the English-Please Builders website to work through the Quizlets. We have 2 Quizlets, one with pictures and another one with gestures, which could be very funny for the kids. We recommend doing the Quizlets multiple times on different days to really memorize the vocabulary words. The study mode of the Quizlets can also be changed from simple flashcards to fun games like match, learn and test. Please try the different modes to make learning more effective and funner!
